Judah as a kingdom had either failed to worship God or simply forgotten their relationship with God. Judgment was pending, but there was still a possibility to escape. We cannot assume that because we bear signs of worshipping God, that we truly are doing so. Instead, we must allow God to examine us and then respond as he directs.
