The Gospel of Luke

This 10-week series offers a snapshot of Luke, touching on some of the major stories in the gospel. Throughout the book of Luke, Jesus is constantly reaching out to people pushed aside by society. A disabled man, a Roman soldier, a sinful woman, lepers, and tax collectors. In God’s master plan of redemption Jesus broke into our world to announce God’s coming reign. In Luke 4 he says, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God… because that is why I was sent.” (Luke 4:43) Jesus came to earth with the good news that we are no longer slaves to the cruel master of sin, but we can be set free and enter into God’s Kingdom.
